Our Kinaesthetic Vision & Values
Community Colleges New Zealand embrace the vision of a kinaesthetic
learning community. Our aim is to create a positive, practical learning
culture that meets the needs of kinaesthetic learners.
A kinaesthetic learning community is one in which:
- There is a high level of interactive physical activity and practical training
- Tutors facilitate learning rather than teach
- Students' existing skills and life experience are recognised and valued
- Individuals' learning preferences are respected
- There is a high degree of positive encouragement, coaching and feedback
- Staff and learners work together to create an exciting and creative learning environment
- There are positive expectations of success for all participants.
