Cupcakes for Child Cancer

Posted by Community Colleges NZ on 22 July 2013 | 0 Comments

ComCol Marlborough participated in the 'One Day For Child Cancer' Campaign on 18th - July - baking, designing and icing cupcakes which they sold for $3 each.  The College raised a total of $510.80.

Each class was given a budget to design amazing cupcakes with no guidelines other than to have fun for a great cause!  Students enjoyed the opportunity to show their creative flair and it was a wonderful way for the College to pull together and create an environment that fostered teamwork and innovation while enhancing student awareness of charities.

The College has had a long standing affiliation with Child Cancer with former tutor Brad Huntley and Marlborough Red Devios rugby team trainer Aaron Senior paddling across Cook Straight in a waka for the same cause in 2005.

Well done to all involved, especially ComCol Marlborough cookery tutor Hannah who had only been in the job for two weeks.
