Our Vision

Community Colleges NZ Ltd provide learning experiences for people from very diverse backgrounds including different ages, gender, social background and culture. We endeavour to maintain an environment where everyone feels valued for who they are. This requires that we all respect each other, our individual values, beliefs and cultures and celebrate the difference, for each of us has something that we can learn and something that we can share so that others may learn.

Our Kinaesthetic Vision & Values

Community Colleges New Zealand embrace the vision of a kinaesthetic learning community. Our aim is to create a positive, practical learning culture that meets the needs of kinaesthetic learners.

A kinaesthetic learning community is one in which:

• there is a high level of interactive physical activity and practical training
• tutors facilitate learning rather than teach
• students' existing skills and life experience are recognised and valued
• individuals' learning preferences are respected
• there is a high degree of positive encouragement, coaching and feedback
• staff and learners work together to create an exciting and creative learning environment
• there are positive expectations of success for all participants.
