Hairdressing


Our hairdressing programmes give a ‘hands on’, exciting introduction to the hairdressing industry.

Our hairdressing programmes incorporate:
  • National Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) – Level 2
It will enable you to provide basic hairdressing services under the supervision of a senior stylist.
The following areas may be covered in this programme:

An introduction to hairdressing, including using and maintaining the tools of the trade and knowledge of hairdressing trichology

Salon Assistant skills, which involve shampooing the hair and scalp, applying treatments to the hair, blow drying and setting hair into simple styles, and hair-ups

Customer service, which involves handling customer enquiries, assisting customers with their purchasing, and building a rapport with customers

Retail, sales and marketing, including product knowledge, and use of eftpos machines

Personal development to further enhance your skills for the workplace. You’ll be able to develop essential attributes such as personal presentation, cultural and community awareness, time keeping, team work, dealing with stress and communicating in a working environment

And finally, you’ll complete some active preparation to gain employment. We’ll help you as much as we can by placing you out in the industry for practical work experience, helping with your CV, planning for your career, and assisting with job search, job applications and interviews.
