Youth Advisor - North Canterbury

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated Youth Advisor based at the Community College North Canterbury in Rangiora who will work to support young people to achieve.

THE COLLEGE
Community Colleges New Zealand is a charitable company delivering foundation education and transition services across the South Island. We require a Youth Advisor to join our Youth Service team.

THE SERVICE
The service provides mentoring and support with NEET clients, 16 and 17 years, who are at risk of being Not in Employment, Education or Training. We also work with 16 - 19 year old young parents and other 16 and 17 year old young people who are receiving financial assistance from the government.

THE POSITION
We seek a motivated, non judgmental person with strong communication skills who will assist these young adults in furthering their educational career path. Liaising with schools and other stakeholders will be part of this role. Attention to detail along with the ability to meet the administration rquirements is essential. We provide a wrap-around service tailored for each individual to meet their varying needs. The target is that all participants achieve NCEA Level 2 (or an equivalent qualification) and successfully transition onto further education or employment.
