Education Code of Practice
At Comcol our mission is to provide an environment that creates opportunities for success in education, employment, wellbeing and sustainability.
Our values guide how we behave and act as we provide a nurturing environment to guide rangatahi on a positive pathway to education, employment and personal wellbeing.
We recognise the diversity of each other and our communities, and we all have something to share and learn from each other. We care about everyone’s health and happiness and ensuring sustainability for future generations.
The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 makes sure that tertiary and international learners enrolled within New Zealand are safe and supported. It sets out what providers, like Comcol, must do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their learners.
The code has outcomes that are applicable to all providers with additional outcomes applicable to international students and those in student accommodation. The outcomes applicable to Comcol students are:
Outcome 1: A learner wellbeing and safety system.
Outcome 2: Learner voice.
Outcome 3: Safe, inclusive, supportive and accessible physical and digital learning environments.
Outcome 4: Learners are safe and well.
You will find more information about the Education Code of Practice here at: https://www2.nzqa.govt.nz/tertiary/the-code/the-code-for-learners/
We are required to demonstrate how well we are applying the code on an annual basis. Please see our latest report below.
