Emerge / Hauora: Level 1-2

Offering a range of life and work skill-building opportunities while studying NZ Certificate in Foundation skills (Level 1 & 2) and the opportunity to obtain NCEA Level 1. ​Eligible to enter Level 2 programmes at completion.

New Course: Hauora Foundation 2021
Explores personal wellbeing, interpersonal skills, resilience and a range of transferable skills needed for future education.  Learn and grow confidence through adventure based activities and community work.

Subject to demand in Dunedin - Hauora

Literacy, numeracy and NCEA credits are achievable through all the courses.

Course Outline

The course covers:

• Communication & teamwork
• Customer service
• Personal wellness and life skills
• Embedded literacy and numeracy

Qualifications: Level 1-2

• ​New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 1)
• New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 2)
• NCEA Level 1

Course Length

​40 weeks, full-time, Monday to Friday

Customer Service: NCEA 1&2

Gain NCEA Level 2 and go on a journey of enterprise and retail in a supportive learning environment.
Ideal if you are interested in a career in retail.

​Only available in Dunedin

Course Outline

Learn about the retail industry through visiting local retail stores and activities.

​Communication, interpersonal and self-management skills and your NCEA Level 2 qualification also open up a wide range of general study options or careers.

Entry Criteria

To enrol in this course and qualify for free training under the Youth Guarantee (YG) initiative, students must:

• be 16-19 years of age at the start of the Youth Guarantee programme
• be a New Zealand citizen or have New Zealand permanent residency
• be prepared to study full-time for 1 year in a level 1-3 programme
• not be enrolled in school and a Youth Guarantee programme simultaneously
