Free 8-week programme. 
Weekly 4-hour in person workshops 
for 18 - 24 year-olds. 
Small groups with one-on-one mentoring. 
Improving your self-esteem, work readiness,
and your ability to engage with ​your MSD Case Manager 
to move into ​and stay in employment. 
The Five Ways to Wellbeing are included in our activities.

What does the course include? 
Week 1 : Introducing Me and Us
Understanding self and others; looking at my individual circumstances and barriers and/or my current situation and challenges; group work and team building; what's my ‘why’; exploring the Comcol environment; health and safety induction; meeting our team and identifying my interests. 

Week 2 : Resilient Me 
Introducing the Five Ways to Wellbeing; maintaining wellbeing; overcoming barriers; having a healthy lifestyle; being part of group activities. 

Week 3 : Money Matters  
Demonstrating the advantages of being a salary or wage earner.
Recap of weeks 1 to 3 and recognising the small FLIP changes in myself.  

Week 4 : Hospitality Taster  
Barista training or food handling and cooking skills; incorporating week 2 and 3 learnings in a practical way.

Week 5 : Sustainability Taster  
Living within my means; resourcefulness; reusing, recycling and reducing; community connections; what's local. Incorporating learnings from weeks 2, 3 and 4 in practical way. 

Week 6 : Environment Taster 
Hands in the dirt; maintaining native planting and food gardens; harvesting kai; checking predator traps and pest control. Recap of weeks 4 to 6 and recognising any FLIP changes to myself and positive new habits.  

Week 7 : My Best Presentation  
Preparing my CV and Cover Letter - my strengths and skills; newly developed interests and associated skills. Using online tools to prepare and update CV and Cover Letter; using job search websites. Learning interview skills - confidence and speaking well during an interview.

Week 8 : My Next Step   
Identify the gains , journal notes of successes and "Feel Like It's Possible”, changes in me from weeks 1 to 7. Plan and set goals or building on work readiness; personal positive wellbeing; determination to secure and stay in employment.
