Mō mātou | About us
Community Colleges New Zealand (Comcol) is at the heart of the community. As a charitable organisation, it has been nurtured and managed by people who wholeheartedly care about making a real difference in the lives of those who need support to learn and grow in an environment that best suits them. With a vision and values that are entwined with the whakataukī of ‘poipoia te kàkano kia puawai’ (nurture the seed and it will blossom), Comcol is intent on creating better lives for our community.
We have over 40 years experience providing vocational training programmes for foundation learner's in safe and positive environments.
Sustainability, well-being, education, mentoring and a connected community is what we are all about.
We have been initiating and partnering in some really cool and meaningful nature-based projects to ensure we continue into the future with relevant learning and practical real-world training opportunities. These projects include: urban food security, vegetable gardens, food forest, chicken coop and chickens, native seed bank, native plant nursery, native biodiversity corridor, predator control and pollinator pathways.
